During the World Yachting Summit in Monaco we interviewed the CEO of Habacoa, Ra’anan Ben-Zur
During the World Yachting Summit in Monaco a number of futuristic projects for the yachting industry were presented. Among these was also Habacoa, who aspire to become the biggest luxury marina in North America. As media partner for the event, Daily Nautica interviewed Ra’anan Ben-Zur, developer and CEO of the company.
During our interview we spoke about the essence of Habacoa, a marina for superyachts located in the Bahamas and connected to a luxury residential complex, opening in 2027. Ben-Zur explained that their objective is to become a new destination, not just for America, but also for the rest of the world. Luxury, exclusive services and comfort are the key words for the project, which is also still respectful of the environment.
The essence of Habacoa
“Habacoa – says Ra’anan Ben-Zur to DN – is the historical name of the Bahamas in the first maps of the New World. What we are building is a marina for superyachts. An iconic luxury resort community, connected to a tourist marina. This is what makes it different. It will be the first and biggest destination marina in the entire North American region. All the services we will provide have been created to take care of the captain, the crew and, obviously, the owners and their guests. We offer supplies, security, comfort and luxury, all first class services. This is the essence of Habacoa.”
Care for the environment
“There is also – notes the developer and CEO of Habacoa – the resort aspect, a truly exclusive development with only 240 residential units. It is a very delicate area, environmentally speaking, and for this reason we have decided to go low impact. We are also building a marina on land, which opens to the ocean at the last moment, in order to limit effects on marine life.”
